Heritage Protection, Accessibility, Valorization: Three Thematic Workshops

Naples, 8-9 April 2025

The TUPACH Research Project, in conjunction with a PNRR PhD Research project, hosts three thematic workshops involving decision makers, experts, and community members to discuss intermediate research findings and develop relevant policy propositions. Each workshop draws on specific case studies from the research project to address one of the three key heritage issues of protection, accessibility, and valorization.
Small by-invitation-only sessions (April 8) and a larger public event (April 9) will play a key role in supporting the findings’ validation and helping finalizing policy statements and recommendations regarding heritage protection, accessibility, and valorization. Part of the final research outputs, these statements will provide guidance to urban and heritage decision makers in reinforcing cultural heritage through future projects, while at the same time addressing underlying issues or problems.
In addition, the workshops encompass the testing of a technological component meant to assess the opportunities and determine the challenges of using Augmented Reality (AR) to understand and drive transformative urban and architectural projects in heritage-rich areas.
